Does it contain any food allergens, sugar, additives, preservatives, or coloring?
No.
What are the ingredients?
Each syrup shot contains a 5 gram therapeutic dosage of our pure, highly concentrated Multi-ProBio Rx™ Galactooligosaccharide, a prebiotic fiber. That's it!
Where is it made?
Our ingredient, Multi-ProBio Rx™, is made in friendly Canada, and Daily Tummy Defense™ is packaged in Texas.
Is it truly KETO?
Yes. It has zero net carbs and zero calories.
Does it dissolve completely?
Yes, it dissolves quickly with no residue or grit.
Can you add this to hot or iced drinks?
Yes, food and drink up to 200°F.
Do I really need to eat more fiber?
Generally yes. But, we especially need to consume more prebiotic fiber. Lots of foods and supplements have fiber in them, but most are not prebiotic fiber.
What’s so important about prebiotic fiber?
It's fiber that can't be digested by you, but it's consumed by specific healthful bacteria once it reaches your lower tummy.
What is Multi-ProBio Rx™?
Our proprietary ingredient, Multi-ProBio Rx™, is a highly concentrated prebiotic fiber made from pure galactooligosaccharide (GOS). GOS has been used in infant formula for over a decade, to help mimic the many health benefits of breast milk.
Tests have shown that healthful bacteria prefer Multi-ProBio Rx™ over other prebiotics.1
What are some of the healthful bacteria that consume Multi-ProBio Rx™?
These are the best known strains that consume Multi-ProBio Rx™1,2,3,4,5,6,7:
- Bifidobacterium adolescentis
- Bifidobacterium angulatum
- Bifidobacterium bifidum
- Bifidobacterium breve
- Bifidobacterium infantis
- Bifidobacterium lactis
- Bifidobacterium longum
- Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum
- Lactobacillus acidophilus
- Lactobacillus casei
- Lactobacillus johnsonii
- Lactobacillus paracasei
- Lactobacillus plantarum
- Lactobacillus reuteri
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus
- Faecalibacterium prausnitzii
- Roseburia faecis
- Roseburia intestinalis
- Roseburia inulinivorans
- Anaerostipes caccae
- Christensenella
What does healthful bacteria do?
Healthful bacteria are essential to our survival. They help us digest food and absorb nutrients, and they produce several vitamins. Healthful bacteria can also help protect us against pathogens that cause disease by producing acids that inhibit their growth, crowding them out, and stimulating our immune system to fight them off. They act as our protectors when they are able to multiply and thrive in our bodies, but they must be well fed to thrive.1
But isn’t it better to take probiotics instead of feeding them?
Generally no, and according to the American Gastroenterological Association they don’t recommend taking probiotics in most cases.1 Most bacteria are too fragile to survive the journey through the digestive process.
And two, everyone’s optimal bacterial balance is different. One person’s combination is different from another’s. So it makes more sense to feed the good guys who have already made your tummy home, as opposed to adding foreign strains who may not like it there. A prominent microbial ecologist has called probiotics "a can of worms”.2
But if you are taking probiotics, Multi-ProBio Rx™ has been proven to nourish the most popular strains found in the top probiotics on the market.
I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Doesn’t my diet feed my good bacteria?
There is very little prebiotic fiber in fruits and vegetables.
In fact, to eat the same amount of galactooligosaccharide prebiotic fiber found in one serving of Daily Tummy Defense™, you would have to eat over 8lbs of broccoli, over 5lbs of onions, or 10 cups of bran cereal, every single day!1
For most of us, our Western Diets are harmful to our healthful bacteria.2 Our diets contain too much fat and sugar. It's been said that “we are essentially starving our microbiome”.3 Which means we aren’t feeding our good bacteria in our tummy enough prebiotic fiber. But Multi-ProBio Rx™ has been shown to counterbalance our western diet.4
What if I don't feed my healthful bacteria?
Pathogens will eat you. Seriously.
If they starve, they can't protect you from the bad guys.
According to the latest research, pathogens will start eating your insides, specifically the protective mucin layer of your lower intestine. This results in a whole host of health issues.1,2,3,4,5
Does Multi-ProBio Rx™ feed Bifidobacteria?
Not only does Multi-ProBio Rx™ feed it, it feeds it more efficiently than all other prebiotics. Which means they love it!1,2 In fact there’s evidence that it will increase Bifidobacteria as much as 1,000%!3
What’s so important about Bifidobacteria?
Bifidobacteria have been shown to line the colon walls and fill in the gaps, to protect and prohibit an invasion of pathogens.1,2,3 When pathogens can get through your colon barrier, they say you’ve got “leaky gut syndrome”. Bifidobacteria plugs those gaps. But the key is to make sure the Bifidobacteria is not spread too thin and there’s enough to plug all the gaps. If your Bifido isn’t well fed, they won’t be able to protect you fully.
Bifidobacteria is also associated with longevity. As we age, most of us have a lower amount of bifidobacteria. Research is still early, but scientists have discovered that those of us who live the longest have the most Bifidobacteria in their tummys.4
What else does Bifidobacteria and other healthful bacteria do?
Another big health benefit is when they eat, they produce Short-Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs).
Specifically:
- Acetate
- Butyrate
- Formate
- Lactate
- Propionate
Why are SFCAs important?
SCFAs play an important role in maintaining colon and immune health.1
SCFAs also lower the pH of the colon, making it difficult for pathogens to survive, pathogens such as2,3,4,5,6:
- E. Coli (Escherichia coli)
- Associated with food poisoning and traveler’s sickness, diarrhea, cramping, nausea, and vomiting.
- Salmonella
- Associated with food poisoning and traveler’s sickness, diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.
- Candida
- Associated with yeast infections, oral thrush, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, gas, cramps and bloating.
- C. Diff (Clostridium difficile)
- Associated with watery diarrhea, cramping, dehydration, fever, and loss of appetite.
- Klebsiella oxytoca
- Associated with urinary tract infections, sepsis, meningitis, and pneumonia.
- Citrobacter freundii
- Associated with sepsis, meningitis, gastroenteritis and urinary tract infections.
- Rotavirus
- Associated with the “stomach flu”, nausea, vomiting, watery diarrhea, dehydration, and low-grade fever. 215,000 children die annually from Rotavirus.6
Is there another unique health benefit?
In addition to lowering the pH in the colon, Multi-ProBio Rx™ may also help prevent pathogens, including viruses, from attaching to your colon walls.1,2,3 Pathogens look for a place to attach to your porous colon wall so they can enter and invade your system. But Multi-ProBio Rx™ can mimic your colon’s landing sites, attracting pathogens to attach to Multi-ProBio Rx™ instead. Once attached, they get flushed out, and flushed down the toilet.4
